Chief Composites Engineer
In the early stages of Brian’s career, he worked in the aerospace industry before joining Williams F1 in 1982. He is a CEng, FIMechE, MRAeS, MIMMM, Eur Ing. Visiting fellow at the School of Applied Sciences, Cranfield University.
Brian received the ‘ Outstanding Contribution to the Composites Industry’ award for lifetime achievement at the Composites UK Industry Awards in 2015.

BAe Warton 1976-79: Stress Engineer.
Jaguar aircraft wing structure. Composite material projects stress group.
Northrop Aircraft Division, USA. 1979-81: Senior Stress Engineer.
F-18A rear fuselage composite material structures (tail fin, speed-brake, landing gear doors).
Williams Grand Prix Engineering Ltd. 1982-2018: Chief Composites Engineer.
Introduced, and has led, all aspects of composite materials technology. FIA crash-testing 1985 to present, witnessing >450 major impact tests.
Brian is currently continuing to work as a part-time consultant supporting composite activities and helping with in house education.
